But after buying time with the (damn good) Wrongtom re-rub Duppy Writer last year, Smith’s just unveiled his first fresh Roots Manuva album since 2008’s widely-acclaimed Slime and Reason. On his fifth studio effort, Stockwell’s son’s shown he’s not content to stand still sonically, blending dancehall, reggae, disco and G-funk with his trademark bass-heavy electronics. Still dropping satirical missives into his unmistakable flow too, on 4everevolution Smith sounds as fired-up as ever.
