7digital What we said: When we spoke to Holly Lapsley Fletcher at the start of 2015, the 19-year-old was eager to expand upon the limited studio skills she’d taught herself. Though you’d never tell from her spellbinding Understudy EP, producing was new to Southport-born singer-songwriter, whose acoustic background provides the foundation to her wistful electronic-pop. One year on and, with the aid of XL Recordings’ Rodaidh McDonald plus Amy Winehouse-collaborator Paul O’Duffy, Fletcher sounds even more confident as she tackles tales of heartbreak on her promising debut. Amid a sea of minimal slow-burners, the infectious, autotuned ‘Tell Me The Truth’ is the standout that suggests we should all start getting very excited for Fletcher's future material.
