7digital What we said: Earlier this year, Jonathan Davis laid down the manifesto for his latest studio effort thus: “I want to trail-blaze. I want to change things. I want to do things we’re not supposed to do.” One listen to The Path of Totality later and it transpires that characteristically defiant mission statement was euphemistic of the fact he’d recruited a host of rising dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass talent to drive the desk. Featuring Dutch DnB heads Noisia and bro-step upstart (and BBC Sound of 2012 nominee) Skrillex, Korn’s tenth long player offers up an electrical storm of bass-heavy, beat-laden metal. And while it may polarise their fan base, it’ll help the erstwhile nu-metallers dodge the tag “rock dinosaurs” nicely.
